Over 60,000 people are expected to travel through Shannon Airport this June bank holiday, an increase of 9% on the same time last year.
Shannon Airport operates 36 routes, including the recently returned Delta and United Airlines seasonal flights to New York-JFK and Chicago.
It said that over 325,000 seats are now available across five transatlantic routes from the airport until September, including the Aer Lingus year-round daily flight to Boston.
Shannon Airport also noted that Ryanair's new twice-weekly service to the Portuguese island of Madeira is proving very popular, while TUI;s weekly services to Barcelona-Reus, Lanzarote and new route Palma de Mallorca, are also in full swing for the summer.
The new service to Palma runs weekly and provides an additional 6,800 seats from the airport across the summer season.
Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, said a 9% increase on this time last year shows that more and more people throughout the country are discovering the ease and enjoyment that comes from flying out of Shannon Airport, and how it makes for a stress-free start to any holiday.
Ryanair routes from Shannon include London Stansted, London Gatwick, Faro, Manchester, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona-Reus, Edinburgh, Palma, Wroclaw, Krakow, Lanzarote, Birmingham, Barcelona-Girona, Kaunas, Liverpool, Porto, Budapest, Beziers, Corfu, Fuerteventura, Malta, Naples, Tenerife, Madeira and Gran Canaria.
