Britain's Rentokil Initial said today its organic revenue grew 1.8% in the first quarter, as strength in its international pest control business helped offset sluggish North America business, which it is seeking to overhaul.

Rentokil, which turns 100 years old this year, said that it remains confident about the longer-term prospects despite the looming macroeconomic uncertainties.

This comes amid ongoing disruptions to global supply chains, further exacerbated by proposed US tariffs, which have stifled growth prospects for companies around the world.

Rentokil, which overhauled the management of the North America business last October, said its colleague and customer retentions in its biggest market increased slightly during the first quarter helped by enhanced retention strategies.

The company, which made about 60% of its revenue in North America last year, posted a total revenue of $1.64 billion for the quarter ended March 31, up from $1.61 billion last year.
