Business support services company DCC said today it was making some changes to its management team after it said last November that it will focus on the energy sector.
The company has announced a new CFO, while it has also created the new role of COO as well as a change in management of the Energy division.
DCC said that Kevin Lucey, who has been the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and an executive director since 2020, will become its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) after its AGM in July.
The company said this newly created role will see Mr Lucey continue to partner with chief executive Donal Murphy in the overall management of the group.
He will be responsible for driving the performance of DCC's energy activities in line with its "Cleaner Energy in Your Power" strategy and will lead its regional management teams.
Conor Murphy will succeed Kevin as CFO and will be appointed as an executive director, again from the conclusion of the company's AGM.
Conor Murphy joined DCC in 1998 and has held many senior leadership roles, both within its energy business and at group level, including Director of Group Finance. He is currently the CFO of DCC Energy.
Meanwhile, Fabian Ziegler, the CEO of DCC Energy, will leave DCC in July.
Since joining DCC in 2022, Mr Ziegler has made a considerable contribution to the development of DCC's cleaner energy programme and the growth of its energy services business.
Donal Murphy, DCC's CEO, said the company announced decisive actions in November to simplify the group, pursue its largest growth and returns opportunity in energy and unlock substantial shareholder value.
"In the energy sector we are building a unique, multi-energy, sustainable business. Our new leadership team has extensive experience in the energy sector and the commercial agility and drive to build DCC into a global energy leader," the CEO said.
"We will also drive the growth and development of the Healthcare and Technology divisions while they remain part of the Group," he added.
DCC sells LPG, operates service stations and electric vehicle fast-charging networks and distributes medical and electronic products. Its current brands include Certa, Flogas, Certas Energy and Fannin.
