International agri-services group Origin Enterprises has announced a deal to buy specialist ecological consultancy Scott Cawley Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

Scott Cawley has been providing ecological survey and impact assessment services to the planning and development sectors in Ireland for over 20 years.

The team also advises organisations on how to protect and restore biodiversity by helping them with their nature positive plans, in line with their ESG strategies.

The company joins Origin's growing portfolio of environmental businesses offering ecological and environmental services such as planning consultancy, habitat management and ecological assessments to organisations involved in land management, development, restoration and conservation.

Today's deal brings means that Origin now has a combined team of environmental professionals of more than 270, including 175 ecologists, while it strengthens its position in the UK and Irish ecology and environmental markets.

TJ Kelly, Divisional Managing Director of Origin's Living Landscapes, said that with significant expertise and strong relationships across both the public and private sectors in Ireland, Scott Cawley will complement and strengthen Origin's existing ecological consulting and advisory services portfolio.
