The chief executive of IDA Ireland, Michael Lohan, said he estimates that between 30% to 40% of investments have been delayed in the first three months of this year due to uncertainty caused by the Trump administrations tariffs.
But he said now that the White House had made its announcement the "pathway had now been set out" and the "strength of Ireland will come to the fore".
Mr Lohan said the use by the EU of anti-coercion measures, which could see member states take action against US technology platforms as part of the trade war, would be "harmful to Ireland and the EU."
He added the IDA would be going ahead with marketing and trade missions in the US in the coming months.
