Arachas, the country's largest nationwide insurance broker, has agreed to buy John Brady Insurances Limited for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Loughduff, Cavan, the purchase of John Brady Insurances is in line with Arachas’ plans to bolster its presence in the Border and Midlands region.

The move follows several acquisitions around the country last year, including McDonald Dwyer Reddy & Byrne Insurances Limited in Waterford, Gerry O’Mahony Insurance in Limerick and Gilmartin Insurance in neighbouring Leitrim.

Founded in 1955, John Brady Insurances Limited is a family-owned brokerage, primarily serving the local market and the surrounding area.

The company is run by Ciaran Brady, who is supported by a wider team, with both personal lines and commercial line products.

It specialises in commercial insurance products for SME’s and the agricultural sector including farm insurance, property insurance, vehicle insurance, home insurance and liability insurance.

Post-acquisition, Ciaran Brady and all staff will transition into the Arachas business.
