Wholesale electricity prices down 62% on peak in 2022, but up on last year

Wholesale electricity prices are down over 62% when compared to the peak in August 2022, new figures from the Central Statistics Office show.

However, wholesale electricity prices in November were up almost 19% on last year, and up over 18% when compared to the previous month.

The CSO figures also show that domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 1.2% higher last month when compared with a year earlier, while producer prices for exported goods were up by 2.3%.

Overall, manufacturing producer prices were 2.1% higher in the year.

Meanwhile, producer prices for food products increased by 3% in the 12 months to November, while the Food Products, Beverages & Tobacco Index was up by 2.5%.

Wholesale prices for construction products decreased by 0.1% in the month to November, but rose by 0.9% on the same time last year.
