Irish nationals earned a median income of €728 weekly last year compared to non-nationals who earned €641, new figures from the Central Statistics Office show.
After Irish nationals, the highest proportion of employments were those with Polish 3.4%, UK 2.8% and Indian 2.8% nationalities.
"Indian nationals had the highest median weekly earnings in 2023 earning €883.74 and Ukrainian nationals had the lowest median weekly earnings of €450.29," the CSO said today.
After Indian nationals, United Kingdom nationals (€745.78), Irish (€728.05), and Italian (€701.78) nationals had median weekly earnings higher than the national median of €699.28.
The organisation found that for the five years between 2018 to 2023 the number of employments for Irish nationals rose by 108,494 while the number of non-Irish nationals grew by 190,146.
