Building materials giant Saint-Gobain has entered the building solutions market in Ireland for the first time through the acquisition of Kilwaughter Minerals.
Kilwaughter operates a manufacturing facility and limestone quarry near Larne in Northern Ireland and employs about 200 people.
The business also operates three distribution centres in the Republic of Ireland (Cork), Scotland (Glasgow) and England (St Helen's).
Saint-Gobain said today's acquisition further strengthens its light and sustainable construction solutions for the whole building envelope for both new construction and renovation with Kilwaughter's well-established and recognised brands - K Rend and K Systems.
K Rend supplies façade mortars including high-performance renders, mortars, external coatings and K Systems is a solution for external wall insulation.
