The National Treasury Management Agency has appointed Rebekah Brady as Director of the agency's new Future Ireland Funds unit.

The unit will manage the two new funds established by the Government earlier this year to invest certain Exchequer tax receipts - the Future Ireland Fund (FIF) and the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund (ICNF).

Ms Brady is currently Deputy Director and Head of Investment at the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), where she leads the teams managing investments in its Irish and Global Portfolios.

Her appointment follows a recruitment process that was advertised publicly and open to both external and internal candidates.

Frank O'Connor, the chief executive of the NTMA, said this was a very important appointment for the agency as it has been charged with complex, high-value work on behalf of the State to manage and invest these funds.

"Rebekah brings exceptional levels of investment and leadership experience to this role and I wish her every success," he added.
