The chief executive of Corre Energy has resigned from his role.

The company said Keith McGrane, who was also an executive director, has stepped down to pursue other personal interests.

"The Company thanks Mr McGrane for contributions during his tenure as CEO since the company's initial public offering in September 2021," the firm said in a statement.

"The board acknowledge Mr McGrane's contributions to the company and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours."

Corre said it has now begun an executive search to find a suitable candidate to replace Mr McGrane.

Patrick McClughan, who previously served as chief strategy officer, is assuming the roles previously held by Mr McGrane.

The development comes a month after the company elected a new board of directors, following the agreement of a €5m loan facility with a group of existing shareholders and the resignation of its interim chairman.

Part of the loan agreement was contingent on the approval of an interim board and the new board includes representatives of those shareholders who supplied the funding.

Earlier this year Corre hired Rothschild to advise it on securing new investment after it disclosed it had received investment interest from a number of parties in March.
