New estimated figures from the Central Statistics Office today show that the Agricultural Price Input Index is projected to fall by 9.8% in 2024 when compared with 2023.
The CSO said the projected decrease in the Input Price Index comes after falls of 24.3% in fertiliser prices and of 13.8% in feeding stuff prices this year compared with 2023, while veterinary expense prices are projected to increase by 4.1%.
Today's figures show that Output Price Indices are projected to rise by 6.8% in 2024 due to increases in potatoes, which are estimated to have risen by 31.6%, while sheep prices were up 15.4% and milk prices increased by compared with 2023.
The output price index for cereals is projected to fall by 21%, the CSO added.
