An all-party group of TDs and Senators focussed on remote working has held its first meeting.

The All-Party Group on Remote Work was formed as a result of a discussion hosted last May by remote working organisation Grow Remote on how to harness the full potential of remote work.

The group is made up of TDs and Senators from all parties and independents, and today's meeting in Leinster House focused on raising awareness in local communities of the thousands of remote job opportunities available today.

Members also discussed the need to tackle the obstacles to remote work's benefits being felt in every community in Ireland.

The meeting was chaired by Fine Gael Senator Emer Currie.

"By working together across party lines, and with the support of organisations like Grow Remote, we can ensure that remote work strengthens local economies, supports families, and contributes to a more sustainable future," Senator Currie said.

John Evoy, General Manager of Grow Remote, said that remote work presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate communities across Ireland, reduce carbon emissions, and create sustainable employment.

"We are thrilled to be supporting this initiative and are confident that this all-party collaboration will yield significant returns for Ireland's people and its economy," Mr Evoy said.
