The value of goods exported in July rose by 17% compared with the same month last year.
In total, goods worth over €18.3 billion were shipped abroad during the four week period.
This latest data from the Central Statistics Office points to a relatively healthy export economy so far in 2024, after a challenging time last year.
Over the first seven months of the year the value of exported goods increased by €9.5 billion or 8%.
In July alone, they rose by €2.7 billion or 17% when compared to the same month a year earlier.
Exports to the EU were up 9% in the month compared to July of 2024.
But the share of goods going to Great Britain actually fell by more than a quarter
Exports to the US were up 43% in July, and now account for just under a third of all our exports.
The category that recorded the biggest rise in exports in July was organic chemicals, which includes pharmaceutical ingredients. It was up 37% year-on-year.
