Most consumers know what they need to do to be more energy efficient and believe they can make efforts to achieve this, new data shows.
The EcoSaver research commissioned by Bank of Ireland with Red C reveals that 97% of respondents have heard of Building Energy Rating (BER), while 90% have heard of retrofitting.
Almost 90% of consumers feel that the property they own would benefit from being upgraded or retrofitted, while more than half plan to retrofit their home at some stage.
To support customers with energy efficiency, Bank of Ireland has launched an online energy efficiency hub.
The hub aims to help customers understand their BER, as well as the work involved in achieving a better BER, including cost effective ways to potentially improve BER.
"We're not just funding mortgages or retrofitting, we also have a role in providing practical information and supports so customers can improve their energy efficiency," said Áine McCleary, Chief Customer Officer, at Bank of Ireland.
"Our online hub is designed to help customers who are on that journey, or who may be thinking about it," she added.
