Kerry has been revealed as the best county in Ireland for working from home according to a new study.
The research was commissioned by Virgin Media and looked at criteria such as rent prices, broadband speeds, crime rates, air quality, sunlight hours, restaurant availability, and the number of primary schools.
Using this ranking, the top five counties in Ireland were found to be Kerry, Clare, Laois, Roscommon and Donegal.
According to the study, Kerry's rents at around €1,035 per month are significantly lower than Dublin's average of €2,102 per month.
The county was also found to have good broadband speeds, low crime rates and high air quality.
"With a choice of 635 restaurants, pubs, and cafes, Kerry provides ample entertainment and dining choices, alongside a selection of primary schools," the study found.
The lowest ranking counties were found to be Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo and Limerick.
"Despite their urban charm, these areas face difficulties in offering optimal conditions for remote professionals," according to the research.
High living expenses and elevated crime rates were found to be among the issues facing Dublin, Cork and Galway.
"Sligo and Limerick, renowned for their cultural heritage and natural allure, are confronted with challenges such as air quality issues," the study found.
"Moreover, they grapple with a lower availability of restaurants and entertainment, impeding their potential as thriving remote work hubs," the research concluded.
