Andrew Algeo is to stand down as Chief Executive of the National Lottery operator, Premier Lotteries Ireland, at the end of June.

He will also step down as a board member at that time.

Mr Algeo will be replaced in the role of CEO by Cian Murphy, currently Chief Product and Digital Officer at PLI.

Andrew Algeo joined PLI in 2019 as CEO and oversaw the company's purchase last year by Groupe FDJ, a leading international lottery and gaming operator.

Cian Murphy was previously the Chief Marketing Officer in The AA and has held leadership roles in Paddy Power as well as working as a consultant with McKinsey & Company.

"Andrew has been CEO for the last five years and has successfully led the team at PLI through a rejuvenation in our brand, digital proposition and products as well as internal transformation across our culture, organisation, financing and shareholders," Vivienne Jupp, Chairperson of PLI said.

Premier Lotteries Ireland holds the exclusive licence to operate the National Lottery until the year 2034.

The acquisition of PLI by La Française des Jeux (FDJ) was completed in November 2023.
