Dublin Express is set to invest €5m in a new coach route between Terenure and Dublin Airport.
The new route will create 26 new jobs, made up of drivers, maintenance, sales and administrative staff.
The company said the new service has the potential to take at least 180,000 car journeys off the road.
It said the new 783 service will go through Rathgar, Rathmines and the city centre, with over 40 trips each day running every half hour at peak times.
"We are already carrying over 2 million passengers a year between the city centre and Dublin Airport thus omitting close to a million car journeys a year on this route," said Dublin Express General Manager Rory Fitzgerald.
"We then saw a huge gap for a similar service for Dublin’s southside.
"Our data shows us that over 520,000 people make about 180,000 trips to the airport in the immediate areas around this route between Terenure and the city centre, so this new 783 service is a huge win not only for the environment but offers a much more affordable and convenient public transport option for passengers," he added.
