IKEA is expanding into the northwest, with the upcoming opening of a new Plan and Order Point in Sligo next month.
This will be the retailer's sixth Plan and Order Point in Ireland, with another three planned to open within the next year.
The new store will open its doors in Sligo on Friday, April 19 in The Canopy - formerly Johnston Court Shopping Centre, which last year underwent a €1 million rebrand and makeover.
Plan and Order Points are specialised outlets, designed to provide customers with kitchen and wardrobe planning services where customers can access in-depth home furnishing advice and expertise.
The Swedish furniture company said the Sligo store will showcase six different kitchens, two PAX wardrobe solutions, have a home furnishings planning area and an appliance studio.
It said customers will be able to drop-in or book an appointment to start their design with one of the four specialists working in the store.
Products can then be ordered from across the full IKEA range for delivery direct to the customer's home or a location of their choice.
IKEA opened its first Plan and Order outlet in Naas in 2021, and subsequent outlets in Cork, Drogheda, Carlow, and the St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin.
"Beyond kitchen planning, these locations serve as an ideal hub for assisting individuals who live a distance from our Ballymun store, whether they're looking to order a new sofa, wardrobe, or any other IKEA product," said Martyn Allan, Market Manager, IKEA Ireland.
