Ryanair has reported a 5% increase in passenger numbers for February as it operated over 63,000 flights during the month.

The airline said its passenger numbers rose to 11.1 million from 10.6 million the same time last year.

Its load factor - how many seats it fills on each flight - was changed at 92%.

Ryanair also said it cancelled 800 flights due to the Israel-Gaza conflict during the month.

Last week the airline said it expects to carry 198 million to 200 million passengers in the financial year from April, down from the 205 million previously forecast, after announcing cuts to its summer schedule due to Boeing delivery delays.

The airline was due to receive 57 Boeing MAX 8200 planes by the end of April, but a deepening crisis at Boeing means it will deliver just 40 jets before the end of June.
