Supermarket chain Aldi said today it was cutting the prices of another 81 of its most popular products, as part of its commitment to offering customers the highest-quality products at the lowest possible prices.
Among the products to see a price cut are fresh chicken, beef, lamb, fish, bread, cooking ingredients, deodorant and wine.
Aldi said the latest cuts follows it announcement last month of price drops to almost 150 bestselling products.
It said the latest price cuts represent an investment of more than €12m by the retailer in its commitment to delivering lower prices and unbeatable value for customers.
Aldi also said today that the new price cuts announced will not impact on the prices paid to any of its suppliers.
It recently said that it had spent €1.1 billion with its network of more than 330 Irish suppliers last year, including signing a number of new supplier contracts worth more than €40m.
Colin Breslin, Aldi's Ireland Managing Director of Buying and Services said, the supermarket group continues to focus on providing its customers with great quality products at the lowest possible prices.
"Last month, we implemented almost 150 new price cuts as we reaffirmed our commitment to our customers to continue reducing prices as and when we can. Today, we're cutting the prices on a further 81 products, bringing the total number of products we’ve cut prices on this year up to 230," Mr Breslin added.
