Europcar is to invest €3m in the expansion of its service offering across two new locations in Wexford and Donegal, as part of its regional expansion plans for this year.

The company is also enhancing its presence in Co Westmeath with the opening of a new branch in Athlone.

Its new branches are located in Drumnahoe, Letterkenny in Co Donegal, Fahy's Cross, Castlebridge in Co. Wexford and at Diskin Centre, Golden Island, Athlone in Co Westmeath.

All branches are now operational and have created ten new jobs across the locations.

The new locations bring Europcar's nationwide network of branches in Ireland to a total of 26.

Its network also includes access to over 1,400 EV charging stations across the Republic of Ireland, for customers who avail of its range of electric vehicles.

Europcar said it is committed to making transport solutions available to even more people across Ireland in 2024, as a sustainable and flexible alternative to private vehicle ownership.

It also said today that its car sharing service GoCar has expanded its presence in the regions with the addition of four new bases in Tullamore in Co Offaly; Mullingar in Co Westmeath; as well as new locations in Co Wexford in Wexford town and Gorey.

Paul McNeice, Head of Country for Europcar Mobility Group Ireland, said the company is committed to ensuring flexible and cost-effective mobility solutions are accessible wherever and whenever they are needed to help customers meet their daily transport needs including commuting, shopping, recreational trips, staycations and more.

Cormac Moran, Head of Regional Operations and Sales, said that Europcar continues to invest in regional locations to help local communities and businesses move how and when they want to move.

"We look forward to seeing how the new investment will benefit a wide range of customers, from families and local businesses to national and international tourists, across Westmeath, Wexford and Donegal," he added.
