Businesses like consumers are beginning to feel the benefits of reducing wholesale energy costs, with SSE the latest to announce a reduction in what it charges its corporate customers.
The company is cutting its standard variable unit rate for electricity by 18% and its standing charges by 31%.
The reductions will kick in on February 1 and will benefit around 7,900 customers.
The cuts that business customers will see will vary and depend on their usage and meter type, SSE said.
The provider said it was committed to passing on savings to customers as soon as it was possible to do so and it is now delivering on that promise.
In May of last year the company announced a decrease of 10% on standard variable rates.
