Cairn Homes has been granted full planning permission by An Bord Pleanála for 565 houses, apartments and duplexes at Seven Mills in Dublin 22.

This brings the total number of homes that have been granted planning permission to almost 2,000 out of the 5,500 planned new homes that Cairn plans to build at Seven Mills.

Located between Lucan and Clondalkin, Seven Mills forms a major component of the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone (SDZ).

When complete, Cairn Homes said that Seven Mills will be home to over 15,000 people with significant commercial, retail, and office space which will employ over 10,000 people.

An Bord Pleanála in November had granted planning permission for 603 apartments at the development, which will also see the construction of six retail units, a creche, an office building and an urban square.

Construction of the first phase at Seven Mills began in January 2023 with 130 family homes now complete and the first residents living there.

Michael Stanley, CEO of Cairn, said that Seven Mills represents a once-in-a-generation project and today's announcement is an important next step for Cairn in realising the ambition of this new town.
