ALDI is to cut the price of 170 seasonal products as Irish consumers prepare for Christmas.
The supermarket chain said prices are being reduced on a range of products, including fresh Irish turkeys, fruit and vegetables, specially selected wines and its range of frozen party food.
ALDI claims the cuts will save consumers an additional €2m over the Christmas period.
The retailaer has already lowered the prices of almost 300 products in the past few months.
It is set to sell over 60,000 fresh turkeys to Irish shoppers from December 20 this year and also predicts it will also sell more than 80,000 units of roast potatoes, an estimated 125,000 dessert puddings ands almost 500,000 boxes of mince pies in the lead up to Christmas day.
Prices for Christmas dinner staples such as rooster potatoes, sprouts and carrots have also been cut by up to 75%.
Colin Breslin, Managing Director of Buying & Services of ALDI Ireland, said the latest price cuts are part of the group's continued efforts to make great quality food affordable for all, from party food treats to Christmas essentials.
"While we have already introduced a number of price cuts on essential household items throughout the year, we understand that the Christmas period can be a difficult time financially for many families. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season, so we're keeping our prices as low as possible this Christmas on all our best-loved holiday products," he added.
