The Omniplex cinema group is to expand into Great Britain.
Ireland's largest cinema firm is buying five of the existing Empire Cinema outlets in England.
The company is investing £22m in buying and renovating the cinemas in Birmingham, Ipswich, Sutton, Clydebank and High Wycombe.
The locations, which employ 150 people, will be rebranded to Omniplex this month.
The firm plans to add further locations next year.

"This expansion is a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, and delivering unforgettable moments for our customers."
Omniplex Group already operate 38 cinemas across the island of Ireland with a total of 270 screens.
As well as showing latest movies, the chain also now screens exclusive productions, opera, live sport, musicals, concerts and ballet.
