Exploration company Conroy Gold and Natural Resources has confirmed the discovery of a new gold-in-bedrock resource at its Slieve Glah gold target in Co Cavan.
The new resource is located at Drumavilly at the southwestern end of the 65km long Orlock Bridge gold trend.
A trenching and drilling programme carried out by the company in conjunction with its joint venture partner Demir Export led to the discovery of gold values of 2.0 g/t gold over 1 metre within zones of 10 metres gold mineralisation.
Conroy said that it had already identified Drumavilly as "a highly anomalous gold target".
"It is very exciting to see these gold assay results from drilling and trenching at Slieve Glah, which confirm the prospectivity of this very extensive target area located to the Southwest of the district scale Orlock Bridge gold trend in the Longford-Down Massif," Chairman Professor Richard Conroy said.
