Irish consulting engineering business, Jennings O'Donovan, has been taken over by UK located RSK Group.
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded in 1950, the Sligo based firm employs 100 people and provides renewable energy, water supply, wastewater treatment and other planning and environmental services to customers.
These include utilities, developers, local authorities and industry here, in the UK, Eastern Europe and elsewhere.
Jennings O’Donovan has an annual turnover of around €8.2m.

"In renewables alone, the business has a project portfolio extending to more than 2500 MW of power and it is a recognised market leader in wind energy development. When this portfolio is completed, total investment will extend to €3 billion in the wind energy sector."

RSK Group, which is made up of more than 200 individual companies employing 12,000 people globally, already has 500 staff in Ireland.
