Gerard Casey has been named as the new chief executive of Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland, based in Dublin.
He steps into the role previously held by Ronan Reid.
Mr Casey will report directly to Mark Kaplan, the global financial services firm's chief operating officer.
He joined the firm in 2020 and previously served as Director of Sales, where he was responsible for client and market-facing teams in Ireland.
Before joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr Casey worked at RBC Capital Markets in Europe.
He also spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs during which he occupied various roles in trading and leadership capacities and worked for three years at Lehman Brothers as an equity trader.
Ronan Reid will now transition to a senior ambassadorial role for Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland. This strategic role will focus on client outreach and exploring potential acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
He will also serve as a non-executive Director on Cantor's Board of Directors Ireland.
Mark Kaplan, Global Chief Operating Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald, said that Ronan Reid's unwavering leadership has been instrumental in building the businesses in Ireland.
"During his time at Cantor, Ronan leveraged his expertise to help achieve many of our strategic initiatives and help drive growth. We look forward to the continued expansion of our Wealth & Asset Management, Fixed Income, and Corporate Finance businesses in Ireland and are poised to achieve significant growth in the years ahead under Gerard's leadership," he added.
