New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the Agricultural Output Price index - what farmers are paid for their produce - fell by 9.2% in the 12 months to June.
The Agricultural Input Price index - which includes the costs for farmers - fell by 10.5% over the same time.
The CSO said the most significant annual output price increases can be seen in cereal prices, which jumped by 47.5%. Pig prices rose by 22.7%, egg prices were up 16.8%, but milk prices decreased by 28.3%.
Over the last 12 months, input price declines were recorded in fertiliser prices, which dropped by 43.4% while motor fuel prices slowed by 30.7%. But electricity prices went up by 34.6%, the CSO added.
On a monthly basis, the CSO said the Agricultural Output Price index decreased by 2.4% in June, while the Agricultural Input Price index fell by 4.3% compared to May.
The price of cattle dropped by 3.9% on a monthly basis in June, while the milk price declined by 3.7%.
Meanwhile, June saw a 17.6% drop in fertiliser prices and a 3.7% fall in the price of in feeding stuffs, but energy rose by 1.3%.
On a monthly basis, the Agricultural Output Price index decreased by 2.4% when compared with May, while the Agricultural Input Price Index for June of this year was down by 4.3% compared to May.
