Paddy Power parent Flutter Entertainment has reported profit after tax of £128 million for the first six month of the year.
It compares to a loss of £112 million for the corresponding six month period in 2022.
The group posted adjusted revenue growth of 38% which brought first half revenue to £4.8 billion.
A statement accompanying the results said the group benefited from an exceptionally strong US performance and strong momentum in UK and Ireland and International markets, along with the addition of Sisal in August of last year.
Flutter said its US operations had reached a 'profitability inflection point' with adjusted earnings before tax and other measures coming in at £49 million ($63 million) for the half year.
The company along with broadcaster Fox announced in recent weeks that it would close the US sports betting platform FOX Bet.
Flutter had said that FOX Bet had contributed less than 3% to its revenue of £2.6 billion in the fast growing US market last year.
The UK and Ireland division recorded revenue growth of 13% while revenue was down by 1% the Australian market.
International revenue recorded 8% revenue growth.
Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter Entertainment said the first half of 2023 marked a pivotal moment for the Group.
"With our divisions and their brands benefitting from the competitive advantages provided by the Flutter Edge, Group performance in the period was very strong, with delivery of our strategic objectives.
The US delivered another exceptional performance. We acquired over two million new players in the period, cemented our leadership position in sports and grew our share in iGaming to 23%," he added.
The group said the second half of the year had started in line with expectations with full year adjusted earnings likely to be 'broadly in line' with market expectations.
Flutter said it expects full-year adjusted US earnings of £90 to £190 million as it invests further in the second half and earnings in the rest of the group of between £1.44 billion and £1.6 billion.
