Dunnes Stores is to open a new store in Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin in October.

Hammerson, which owns the centre, said that Dunnes will take up about 54,000 sq ft of retail space at Dundrum Town Centre to mark its debut at the shopping centre.

The new store will offer a homewares range, as well as children's, men's and women's fashion.

Hammerson also said that Superdrug will change a former 8,000 sq ft fashion unit into a new cosmetics store in Dundrum, while Western Union also plans to open a new workspace there.

It said the three new signings form part of a major reconfiguration and repositioning of Dundrum Town Centre.

This began with the opening of a new Brown Thomas store in 2022, while last month Penneys increased its retail space by 64% at Dundrum as part of a relocation and extensive upsize.

Connor Owens, Managing Director, Asset Management (Ireland & Scotland), said Hammerson's strategic focus to reposition and enliven Dundrum Town Centre is evident as it continues to welcome new brands, concepts and market firsts and introduce new revenue streams.

"The repositioning of 200,000 sq ft of prime space has been integral to this strategy, so we are delighted to announce the signing of Dunnes Stores. This is testament to the quality and attraction of Dundrum as well as the hard work of our colleagues and brand partners," Mr Owens said.

"With Dunnes Stores, Brown Thomas, Penneys and Nike Live, we now have our dream occupier line up and are now in a stronger position than before the pandemic," he said.

"There is more to come, and our customers can expect even more exceptional brands and experiences in the second half of the year," he added.
