250 new jobs are to be created by water and wastewater infrastructure engineering company Glanua.
The business, which is being rebranded from its current name BHSL, is currently filling 100 roles in its environmental and engineering sector.
150 additional staff are to be added over the coming five years to the 320 that already work for the company.
Most of the new jobs are for engineers, project managers and surveyors, based mainly in Loughrea although some will work in the UK.
The group had been based in Limerick but is moving its headquarters to Loughrea.
Last year it had total revenue of €97m and this year expects that to rise to €150m.
"We look forward to continuing to grow the group through strategic investments in further acquisitions, increased synergies, the sharing of our in-house expertise and the recruitment of talented staff to work alongside our high-performing and dedicated employees," said Karl Zimmerer, Managing Director of Glanua Group.
"We have set ambitious targets and we are confident we can achieve them, working together from our new and expanding group headquarters in Loughrea."
The company works with local authorities and private clients in the food and pharma sectors in several countries to develop and build water and wastewater solutions.
It also supplies products, services and expertise to help municipal, commercial and industrial clients to guarantee environmental compliance and future-proof key infrastructure, as well as meet sustainability targets.
Chaired by former Kerry Group chief executive, Denis Brosnan since 2016, Glanua has grown its business through acquisitions in recent years.
In 2017, then an environmental management company, BHSL bought industrial wastewater treatment solutions provider Hydro International, based in Meath.
Five years later it bought Loughrea based Glan Agua and its sister business MEIC.
Today Glanua counts Uisce Éireann, Thames Water, Affinity Water, Yorkshire Water and a number of local authorities in both the UK and Ireland among its clients.
The group is comprised of Glanua Ireland and Glanua UK, which provides the water and wastewater infrastructure solutions and Glanua Industrial which supplies products to the industrial and municipal water and wastewater industry.
"This is the start of a new chapter for Glanua and it is a positive development for Loughrea, for Galway and for Ireland's ambition to be a lead country in the provision of sustainable and critical engineering solutions," said Mr Zimmerer.
