New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for June stood at 182,700 people, up by 100 or 0.1% from May.
The CSO said the unadjusted Live Register total stood at 184,879 people in June.
It noted that the 35-44 age group made up the largest number of those on the Live Register in June at 43,501 persons or 23.5%.
Of the 184,879 people on the unadjusted Live Register last month 52.1% were men, it added.
Meanwhile, the counties that saw the largest percentage increase in the number of people on the Live Register in the 12 months to June 2023 were Kerry, with a rise of 14.3%, and Leitrim, which rose by 12.4%).
The Live Register is not designed to measure unemployment as it includes part-time workers as well as seasonal and casual workers who are entitled to Jobseeker's Benefit or Jobseeker's Allowance.
Figures earlier this week from the CSO showed that the country's unemployment rate remained at a record low 3.8% in June.
The unemployment rate last month fell to the level last seen in the early days of the Celtic Tiger boom as the economy continued to grow on a wave of investment from foreign multinationals and jobs grew in almost every sector.
