Marks & Spencer and Applegreen are to pilot a new M&S Click & Collect service in four Applegreen stores in the first such roadside service from a major retailer.
The four Applegreen stores taking part in the pilot are in Celbridge in Co Kildare, Kinsealy in Co Dublin, Mountgorry in Co Dublin and at the M11 service at Cullenmore in Co Wicklow.
The two retailers said that shoppers will now have the option to collect orders placed online at M&S.ie free of charge at any one of the four trial Applegreen locations.
This new initiative follows the successful launch in recent months of M&S food at five Applegreen stores across Ireland, which are now stocking M&S food products.
M&S products, including fresh fruit, sandwiches, salads and dinner are also available at all four Click and Collect locations announced today.
Eddie Murphy, Trading Director at Ireland at Marks & Spencer, said the company's Click & Collect service continues to grow in popularity.
"We are constantly innovating and working hard at M&S to make our services as accessible and convenient as possible - to bring our great quality ranges to as many people as we can. Our focus has always been on quality, and now we're putting a huge emphasis on expanding our footprint and increasing the channels that our customers can use to shop with us," he added.
Applegreen Ireland's Managing Director Fiona Mathews said marked the next phase of its partnership with M&S, which has been well received by customers to date.
"Constantly offering more choice is key to Applegreen' operations, and we are confident that this new Click & Collect service will provide something new to the market that customers from both Applegreen and M&S will really love," she added.
Marks & Spencer opened its first store in Dublin’s Mary Street in November 1979 and it now has 18 stores around the country with a workforce of 1,800.
