Bank of Ireland names new Retail Ireland CEO

Bank of Ireland has appointed Susan Russell as chief executive of the Retail Ireland division of the banking group.

The Retail Ireland division provides a wide range of consumer banking products, services and channels.

As well as providing mortgages, current accounts and personal loans, Retail Ireland includes a 169-strong branch network, Bank of Ireland's ATM network, digital banking channels, a network of contact centres and New Ireland Assurance.

In total, more than 4,000 people work in Bank of Ireland's retail division.

Ms Russell joined Bank of Ireland in 2000 and has previously held senior positions in Retail Banking, Finance, Digital, Strategy and Operations.

Myles O'Grady, Group CEO of Bank of Ireland, said the Retail Ireland division is extremely important for the bank as it works to help its customers thrive.

"We want to provide our customers with best-in-class banking services as well as designing products and services that enhance both their banking experience and their long-term financial wellbeing," he added.

Susan Russell said she was delighted to take up the new role as Retail Ireland CEO, at such an exciting time for Bank of Ireland Group.

My ambition is to provide practical and compelling customer propositions, that improve customers financial wellbeing as well as playing a positive role in wider society," she added.
