Ex Ordo, a scholarly conference management company based in Galway, is to create 50 new jobs over the next three years.

It is part of a $3 million investment which will be used to enhance the firm's scholarly conference platform and strengthen its sales and customer support teams.

The investors participating in this funding round include the company's initial group of angel investors, Enterprise Ireland and several leading figures within the scholarly communications industry.

Paul Killoran, founder and CEO of Ex Ordo, said that the investment validates the value and potential of its scholarly conference platform.

"I’ve always believed that scholarly events are the true social network of academia," Mr Killoran said.

"When we bring people together, whether that’s in-person or online, we unlock the potential for knowledge," he added.

Welcoming the jobs announcement, Enterprise Ireland CEO Leo Clancy described Ex Ordo as an innovative, ambitious company.

"It is creating a world-renowned brand in its specific area of focus and has a clear growth path for the coming years," Mr Clancy said.

"This growth will support the creation of high-quality, rewarding careers in the West of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland looks forward to being with Ex Ordo on this journey," he added.
