Irish company Velopi has been bought by Boston company Educate 360 for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2007, and managed by Seamus Collins and his wife Aisling in 2007, Velopi works with startups, multinationals and some of the largest organisations in the world to develop high-performance project managers and organisations.
It also works with education partners to enhance their student's employability, increase enrolments and enhance profitability through its project management courses.
Educate 360 comprises specialised training brands that aim to help individuals and organisations gain the skills needed to thrive in today's technology-led and innovation-driven economy.
It develops integrated solutions across brands to achieve enterprise customers' learning & development goals in the areas of Management & Leadership, Data Science, and IT skills.
Its brands include Pierian Training, Project Management Academy, Six Sigma Online, United Training and Watermark Learning.
Educate 360 is targeting further European expansion and said that Velopi will be a key component in helping it reach that goal.
"Educate 360 has been a game changer for us," Velopi boss Seamus Collins said.
"Our customer base was expanding and the demand for courses was growing and we could maybe have developed some of these courses ourselves but it would have taken us too long," he stated.
Mr Collins was keen to point out that Educate 360's values are very similar to his company's values.
"They want to deliver great training, they have great courses and they’ve got the follow-up support to ensure the students succeed in their endeavours," he stated.
