Bank of Ireland has created a new group executive committee position of Chief Customer Officer.
Áine McCleary has been appointed to the role and will report to Group Chief Executive, Myles O'Grady.
The Chief Customer Officer will be responsible for developing customer strategy across the group with the aim of attracting more customers in, holding on to them and keeping them satisfied with the service.
"Áine will be instrumental in improving the Group’s customer strategy and experience, and further embedding a focus on the customer in all parts of the Group," said Mr O’Grady.
"Áine has a wealth of experience across strategic delivery and customer service and operations, and I know she will be a strong advocate for the customer in this important new role."
Ms McCleary is a former Director of Distribution Channels with the bank who led a team of 3,000 in branches, contact centres and on digital channels between 2018 and 2021.
Most recently she involved in the leadership of the lender’s acquisition strategy.
She also served as President of the Institute of Banking between 2018 and 2019.
