Builders' merchants Chadwicks Group said today it is re-opening its branch on East Wall Road in Dublin 3 as part of its wider branch network expansion.

Chadwicks said the new, bigger branch has been set up to cater for the growing construction work within Dublin's Docklands and Ringsend area. Seven new jobs will be created with the opening of the new outlet

Chadwicks plan to four new 'style' branches by the end of 2024.

It said these smaller branches will be based in construction "hot spots" to meet high level demand for materials and products in those areas.

While these branches will have a smaller retail footprint due to their locations, the entire Chadwicks product range will be available to order for next day collection or delivery, thereby reducing the need for multiple trucks and vans to travel longer distances to source materials.

Patrick Atkinson, CEO Chadwicks Group, said the company is seeing strong demand for construction materials across Ireland.

"Our ambition is to open four new branches in areas where there is high construction activity by the end of 2024. East Wall Road is the first of these openings in this new concept branch," Mr Athkinson said.

"As construction work ramps up in Dublin city centre, the branch has been designed to save our customers time and to get the materials and products they need in a convenient and more sustainable way," he added.
