Ikea has today opened its latest plan and order outlet in Cork - in Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
It is the fourth such outlet opened by the Swedish furniture and household goods retailer in the country.
Stores in Drogheda, Naas and St Stephen's Green opened earlier this year.
Further plan and order points are to come later in the year.
In the smaller stores, customers can design plans for kitchens and bedrooms and access the expertise of planning specialists.
The goods needed are then ordered and delivered to their home.
"Ikea fans in Munster have until now had to travel to Dublin to meet us," said Martyn Allan, Ikea Market Manager in Ireland.
"This new Plan and Order Point means that they instead can meet us to plan kitchens and other areas of their home in their local area," he said.
"An exciting first step on bringing Ikea closer to our customers in southern Ireland," he added.
Earlier this month, Ikea unveiled its first Customer Distribution Centre in Greenogue Logistics Park in west Dublin.
Extending to 450,000 sq ft, it will create 120 jobs when fully operational and allow goods to be delivered more quickly within Ireland.
The company has also hinted recently that a second full-scale store, similar to its flagship in Ballymun in Dublin, may be on its way to Ireland.
