Emerald Airlines is looking for six candidates to take part in its new Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance apprenticeship.

Ireland's newest regional airline and operator of the Aer Lingus Regional franchise said successful applicants will split their time between classroom training in both Shannon and Dublin, and on-the-job training at the Emerald Airlines Engineering and Maintenance Facility at Dublin Airport.

The airline said those who successfully complete the apprenticeship will be considered for full-time positions at Emerald Airlines.

The apprenticeship is carried out in collaboration with SOLAS, Ireland's Further Education and Training Authority and Technological University Dublin.

"This programme would be of particular interest to those interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry, more specifically within Engineering and Maintenance departments," said John Redmond, Line Maintenance Manager at Emerald Airlines.

"We are thrilled to be providing a select number of candidates with an unmissable opportunity at Ireland’s newest regional airline," he added.

Aer Lingus Regional flights are operated by the ATR72-600, and the airline said apprentices will be working primarily on this fleet.

Applications are open now and will close 28 April 2023.
