Online retailer Oxendales has appointed Paul Sweeney as its new chief executive.

Oxendales has been operating in Ireland for over 60 years and has been transformed from its original home catalogue mail order model over the last decade.

Before today's appointment, Mr Sweeney spent six years with Oxendales' parent, N Brown Group, a UK clothing, footwear and homeware retailer.

N Brown owns a number of fashion and lifestyle brands, including JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo.

In his new role, Paul will be responsible for the growth and expansion of Oxendales' retail offering in Ireland and the continued roll out and delivery of its digital first customer experience platform.

He will also oversee the company's transformation programme, following significant investment, and drive growth of its ongoing Fashion-First strategy as it introduces its own and new contemporary brands.

These now include third-party brands such as Nobody's Child, Mango, Monsoon, Whistles, Phase Eight and Under Armour, lifestyle brands Fenty, Dermalogica and Elemis as well as technology brands including Apple, Dyson and Samsung.

Paul Sweeney said that Oxendales is at a very exciting stage in its growth.

"Its dedication to customer satisfaction has been the cornerstone of the company since it was founded, and I am proud to continue on that journey," he added.
