SIPTU says it is suspending two days of planned strike action at private bus operator Go-Ahead Ireland.
24-hour work stoppages were due to be staged on 1 March and 8 March in a dispute over pay.
The union said it is suspending the planned action after the company said it will attend a Labour Court hearing.
SIPTU had accused Go-Ahead of refusing to engage, through agreed processes, in talks concerning an increase in pay to take account of the impact of the cost-of-living crisis.
"SIPTU representatives conducted a ballot for industrial action of our members employed by Go-Ahead Ireland on 20 December," said SIPTU Sector Organiser, John Murphy.
"In the ballot, an overwhelming majority voted for industrial action if management continued to refuse to engage on the issue of pay," Mr Murphy said.
"The company has now agreed to attend the Labour Court and our members, in response, have suspended their scheduled industrial action," he added.
Go-Ahead had previously said that it was willing to refer any of the union's claims to the Labour Court to seek a resolution and that it remain committed to positive and proactive engagement with all stakeholders.
