Permanent TSB has today launched the bank's new joint digital current account, which makes it easier for new customers to open a joint current account digitally through its mobile app.
This new release is part of Permanent TSB's €150m investment in its digital banking services to deliver faster and easier-to-use desktop and mobile app offerings.
It also builds on a programme of digital banking enhancements over the past year that include an improved Open24.ie online banking service, faster bill payments and easier money transfers.
Permanent TSB said the latest changes will be followed by further enhancements to its mobile app during the year.
These will include the introduction of a number of new digital servicing options for customers including self-service card management.
Permanent TSB's chief technology officer Tom Hayes said the bank is putting a lot of thought, backed by customer research, into making its digital channels - including the desktop platform and mobile app - more efficient and easier to use.
"The launch of our joint application process for our award winning digital current account journey on our mobile app is another big step forward in enhancing our offering for joint current account customers," Mr Hayes said.
"We know it can be a real challenge for customers and couples to find the time to attend a branch together to open a new account," he stated.
"In launching this journey, we're providing customers with a seamless, secure and efficient process that supports them in opening their new joint current account, via their mobile, at a time and place that suits them best," he added.
