Dawn Meats Ireland has notified the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission of its proposed acquisition of Kildare Chilling.
The meat processing plant operates in Kildare town.
The company markets its meat products under the Kildara and Heritage Town brands.
The deadline for submissions by third parties on the proposed acquisition must be made to the CCPC by February 20.
In December, Dawn Meats announced a €100m investment in order to reach a target of net zero operational emissions by 2040.
The company said it is working towards a net zero supply chain as soon as possible.
Dawn Meats said it plans to invest in new infrastructure at its plants, including thermal energy generation and more efficient refrigeration systems.
