The latest Agricultural Price Indices from the Central Statistics Office show that input prices rose in the 12 months to October.

Fertiliser prices jumped by 97.7%, while energy prices were up 41.4% and feed prices increased by 32.9%.

Output price increases were recorded in milk prices, which rose by 44.2%, while cereal prices increased by 47.5% and pig prices were up 38.8% in October 2022 compared to the same time last year.

Overall, the CSO said the Agricultural Input Price Index was up 34.8% in October when compared with October 2021, while the Agricultural Output Price Index increased by 26.3% over the same time.

On a monthly basis, the Agricultural Input Price Index increased by 2.1% when compared with September, the CSO said, while the Agricultural Output Price Index decreased by 1.3% on a monthly basis.
