Plans submitted for site of former St Teresa's Gardens, Dublin

The Land Development Agency and Dublin City Council have submitted plans for the redevelopment of lands where the former St Teresa's Gardens complex used to be located in Dublin 8.

The application includes provision for 540 new homes made up of a mixture of 154 social and 389 cost-rental dwellings.

The site comprises 1.74 hectares off Donore Avenue in Dolphin’s Barn.

Dublin City Council has already developed 54 new social homes on additional land that was once part of St Teresa’s Gardens at Margaret Kennedy Road.

"The LDA’s commitment to growing the pipeline of social and affordable homes continues with this planning application in the heart of Dublin 8 for much needed homes in the city," said the LDA’s Head of Property, Phelim O’Neill.

"We are pleased to partner with Dublin City Council and, subject to planning approval, we will be eager to advance the project to construction stage, having engaged extensively regarding the project with the local community."

The planning application follows detailed consultation with the public and includes proposals for arts, culture and community spaces such as a creche, care and retail unit and mobility hub.
