Aldi has today opened its new store in Mountbellew in Co Galway, the latest step in the retailer's dedicated West of Ireland expansion programme.
This programme will see over €63m invested and more than 140 new full-time jobs created across Connacht over the next two years.
The investment has seen new Aldi stores open in Ballina, Tuam and Mountbellew, with new stores also set to open in Athenry, Ballyhaunis, Monivea Road, Galway City.
Stores in Portumna, Clifden, Galway Retail Park and Ballinasloe are also being revamped.
The new Mountbellew store is Aldi's 11th store in Galway and will see the creation of 15 new permanent full-time jobs across management and store assistant roles.
This brings the number of people employed by the company in the county up to 260.
