Aer Lingus has said it will recommence its daily service to Hartford, Connecticut, direct from Dublin next March.

The route marks Aer Lingus' 16th transatlantic route from Ireland, as the airline continues to rebuild its transatlantic network following disruption caused by the pandemic.

The daily Aer Lingus' Hartford service will resume from 26 March 2023.

Lynne Embleton, Chief Executive of Aer Lingus said they are opening up key cities and regions in the US to Irish and European customers by adding new transatlantic routes to their schedule.

"Daily flights to Hartford will bring travellers into the centre of Connecticut, home to global businesses, Yale University and renowned tourist attractions," she said.

"The restart of the daily flight into Bradley International Airport is the only direct service to Europe, reflecting Aer Lingus' ability to connect European customers with North America," she added.

Hartford is the capital of Connecticut and often referred to as the 'insurance capital of the world'.

Housing many insurance company headquarters, insurance remains the region's major industry.

This latest news follows the recent announcement of a new service to Cleveland, Ohio which will operate from next summer.
